Creek Indian History one of the best
Creek Indian History is one of the best books we have read. It is very informative. We have learned more from this book about our heritage and traditions than we thought possible. Just learning that the dead were buried under the floor of the home was fasinating. It's a book everyone wanting to know about the Creek Indians should read.

A beautiful, intimate look at the Navajo of Canyon de Chelly
The navajo are a mysterious and beautiful people that are in the most honest fashion brought to life by Jeanne Simonelli and her photographer Charles Winters. The beautiful pictures taken of the people of Canyon de Chelly mirror and compliment the beautiful stories they tell and the lives revealed in Simonelli's intimate portrayal of Navajo life. This is a joy to read, and an essential companion in the study of the Navajo, or in any visit to the Navajo Reservation.

Cruel April: The Fall of Saigon
Published in Hardcover by W.W. Norton & Company (November, 1990)
Authors: Oliver Todd, Olivier Todd, and Stephen Becker
Average review score:

Memories and Questions
Our nation breathed a collective sigh of relief when The Paris Peace Accord was signed in 1973. It was supposed to be the end of the Vietnam War. As we would learn 2 years later, it was not. Olivier Todd originally covered the war from 1965-1973. After the Fall of Saigon on April 30, 1975, he decided it was time to summarize the final days of the conflict. His book covers the infamous 4-month period from January to April in 1975 and the total collapse of South Vietnam. In reading this book, it is quite obvious he invested a great deal of time into interviews and research. The book not only reviews the final days but also raises many questions about the events surrounding them. The reader will find himself mixing memories with those questions in every chapter.

Cuisines of Southeast Asia: Thai, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Burmese & More (California Culinary Academy)
Published in Paperback by California Culinary Academy (February, 1994)
Authors: Jay Harlow and Sandra Gary
Average review score:

Great Book!
The recipes in this book are very well written and easy to follow. There is a section describing unfamiliar ingredients, and the lesser know cuisines of Southeast Asia such as Burmese and Cambodian have some very good representative dishes. Just about every recipe is usable, and there are some very exotic specialties such as Burmese tea leaf salad. The photography is excellent. I'd highly recommend this book.

The Cult of Pure Crystal Mountain: Popular Pilgrimage and Visionary Landscape in Southeast Tibet
Published in Hardcover by Oxford Univ Pr on Demand (February, 1999)
Author: Toni Huber
Average review score:

Wonderful and Seminal
Toni Huber has made the study of Tibetan pilgrimage his specialty and with this book he has set a new standard which all other studies will have to live up to. Drawing on historical documents and interviews with people who participated in the pilgrimage earlier in this century, Huber describes in great detail the Rongkhor Chenmo, previously one of the most important pilgrimages in all of Tibet. Unlike many sources on Tibetan pilgrimage, which content themselves with merely describing the official doctrinal explanations for pilgrimage, this book explores more deeply the motivations behind pilgrimage and how it was (and is) understood in Tibetan culture. Anyone interested in Tibetan pilgrimage will find this a fascinating and worthwhile read.

Cultures in Conflict--The Viet Nam War: (The Greenwood Press Cultures in Conflict Series)
Published in Textbook Binding by Greenwood Publishing Group (May, 2002)
Author: Robert E. Vadas
Average review score:

A broad-minded, fair-handed study
Cultures In Conflict: The Viet Nam War by Robert E. Vadas (Associate Professor, Department of Education, State University of New York, Potsdam) is a scholarly discussion and an informative retrospective of the Vietnam War, especially in terms of its long-lasting policy and cultural repercussions in both America and Vietnam. Highly recommended as being a broad-minded, fair-handed study of the forces shaping the war and the scars left behind in their wake, Cultures In Conflict is enhanced for both scholarship and the non-specialist general reader with appendixes offering the text of Ho Chi Minh's declaration of independence and his letter to President Harry S Truman.

Dangerous Wildlife in the Southeast : A Guide to Safe Encounters At Home and in the Wild
Published in Paperback by Menasha Ridge Press (01 November, 2001)
Author: F. Lynne Bachleda
Average review score:

Potential life-saving information
Dangerous Wildlife in the Southeast is the most comprehensive reference on the subject - covering potential dangers ranging from the mountains to the sea. Statistics given are fairly current. Pictures are sharp and clear with wildlife in natural habitat - other guides currently available appear to have taken pictures of wildlife from zoos and animals in cages, with pictures being dark and sometimes unclear - making identification of potential threats difficult.

Information is presented in an educational and easy to read format. A particular topic can be quickly located in this book or can be read easily from start-to-finish. Emergency care for envenomations is delivered in a concise, easy-to-follow format with instruction on when to seek advanced emergency care and also provides information to contact current additional resources for further assistance or education. Other texts on this subject contain outdated or inaccurate reference links.

As an Emergency Dept. RN, EMT-Instructor and avid fisherman, this book is an extremely helpful reference. Should be a required on-hand text in any emergency department, camp, emergency services organization or for anyone living in the region. A truly well-written text with potentially life saving information.
